The road trip continues for the Bob Jones University women's basketball team as they make the trip to Pensacola, Florida to face South region rival Pensacola Christian College Saturday night. The Bruins enter the matchup 9-11 on the season and 2-3 in conference play.
On Thursday, the Bruins faced Toccoa Falls College for the second time this week where they fell 63-50. Head Coach Mike LeViere was happier with his team's effort and execution in Thursday's loss but said "we still didn't shoot well and rebounding was a challenge. But otherwise our defense was much better and we actually did some really good things offensively, we just didn't reward ourselves with a bucket." Shea Dickinson led the Bruins with 14 points on the night.
The BJU Bruins and PCC Eagles will meet for the second time this season after the two programs played in Greenville, South Carolina last weekend. It was a tough loss as the Bruins saw their lead slip away in the final quarter as the Eagles came away with the narrow 63-60 win.
Pensacola enters the weekend on a six game winning streak as they sit at 13-5 on the season. They will take on Trinity Baptist College Friday night in a South region matchup ahead of Saturday's contest.
Saturday's game will mark the 26th meeting between the two NCCAA South region rivals with PCC holding the 15-10 record. Tip-off for Saturday's game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center in Pensacola, Florida.
