PCC Eagles are coming to town for a match against our very own Bruins. This will be the second match between the two teams this year and the final matchup during the regular season. The Bruins are coming into this match with a season record of 14-2 and the Eagles hold a season record of 6-6.

In the Eagles last match, they played the Welch Flames in a five-set match. In the first two sets, the Flames would manage to sneak out a pair of wins to lead 2-0. During sets three and four, the Eagles dominated and forced a 5th set. Both teams would battle it out as the set went back and forth. All tied up at 10-10, the Flames would go on a run and take the final few points they needed to win the match. The Eagles would lose 2-3.

The Bruins are red hot this season with a scorching record of 14-2. In their last match, they traveled to Piedmont University. The Bruins played a tough Lions team. With much of the match going back and forth, it seemed like it could have been anyone's game. The Bruins had some early successes at the beginning of each set which really helped them finish strong. The Bruins would go on to sweep the Lions 3-0 to secure their sixth straight win over Piedmont.

The Bruins and the Eagles are long time rivals. Their first matchup on a volleyball court was in 2016, but they have had plenty of matches since that time. This Friday matchup will be the 21st set of appearances between the two volleyball teams. Earlier this season, the teams played against one another at the South Region Fall Kickoff tournament hosted by Toccoa Falls. The Bruins made short work of the Eagles as they swept them off the court. In three straight sets, the Bruins won 25-13, 25-15, and 25-15.

Make sure to come out and support the Bruins at the Davis Field House this Friday, September 29, at 7:00 p.m. Alternatively, you can also watch them on our livestream here. For more Bruins news, make sure to check our website at BJUbruins.com.
