The Bob Jones University women's basketball team has a busy weekend ahead of them as they host rival Pensacola Christian College Friday night. After a quick night's rest, the team will be back on the home court again Saturday afternoon for a game against New College of Florida.
The Bruins come into the weekend after a close game against Toccoa Falls College. The back-and-forth grudge match came down to who could control the ball in the fourth quarter. The Bruins trailed late and couldn't come away with the win. Bob Jones fell 65-59 in a tough game with the Screaming Eagles.
The Bruins started the second half of their season 3-2 after wins over Johnson University FL, Trinity Baptist College, and Trinity College FL. They look to further improve their record with a couple more wins this weekend.
Pensacola comes into the game with a staggering 13-2 record and a three-game win streak over the Bruins. They are averaging 72.9 points per game while holding opponents to just 53.9 points per game. They last played Tuesday at Trinity Baptist College and came away with 79-66 victory over the TBC Eagles.
The Bruins and Eagles have a long history which extends back to the 2012-2013 season. Since then, they've played 27 times over the last 10+ years. The PCC Eagles hold the all-time record 17-10 and are 8-2 in the last 10 matchups. The Bruins and Eagles are scheduled to tip-off at 5:00 p.m. Friday night.
