The women's basketball team is gearing up for their sixth straight home game this weekend. They are hosting Clinton College Friday at 6:00 p.m. in what will be the first meeting between the two programs. After a win over Warren Wilson on Tuesday, the Bruins improved to 8-11 this season. Meanwhile, Clinton College fell to Carolina University Saturday dropping their season record to 2-13.

The Golden Bears have a young team coming into this matchup. Five of their 11 players are freshman and an additional four are sophomore leaving only a junior and senior to a round out the team. Their two wins this season are over Morris College and Vorhees College. In their last game, they played a strong Carolina University team where they were able to keep it close, losing by only three points in a 72-69 game.

The Bruins have been busy the past week, hosting several home games against division rivals Pensacola Christian College and Toccoa Falls College. Tuesday, they defeated Warren Wilson winning 73-60. Anna Layne was the leading scorer for the Bruins with 14 points while Katrina Tabora led the teams in rebounds with 11. Additionally, Shea Dickinson finished the night with a double-double as she tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Golden Bears are part of the NCCAA Division I South Region and compete against teams such as Columbia International and Carolina University. They average 54.8 points per game while the Bruins average 67.6 points per game and allow 67.8 points per game.

The two teams will meet for the first time, Friday at 6:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on the Bruins YouTube channel. You can find that link here.
