The Bruins played their second game in two days this time against the Johnson University FL Suns. After four quarters, there was no chance of denying the Bruins from picking up the 73-43 win.
The Bruins got off to a hot start in the first quarter taking an 18-12 lead. Several Bruins taking shots from outside the arc helped establish this rhythm for the Bruins. As the second quarter got underway, the Bruins continued to play a well-rounded game. In the second quarter alone, the Bruins outscored the Suns 12-3 to go into the half with a 30-15 lead.
Head Coach Mike LeViere said, "The team had a better game due to a focus on shot selection. We were calm with the ball and hunted better shots. We still gave up a lot of offensive rebounds but overall it was a much more focused effort today."
With a 15 point lead to start the half, the Bruins had to be sure to play smart through the next two quarters. The shots continued to fall and at the end of the third quarter the Bruins had a 53-28 lead. Getting into the rhythm early helped establish the whole game and after 40 minutes, the Bruins had won in dominant fashion 73-43.
Up next, the Bruins will have a chance for a little rest in Florida before getting back to the action Monday against Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida. That game is scheduled to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. and can be watched live
