Bruins Win Late Thriller at Pfeiffer

The Bruins come away with a thrilling win against the Pfeiffer University Falcons after a late goal by Rylan Boldt.

"Tonight was a battle," Head Coach Greg Fulton said. "This was a very good and organized Pfeiffer team and they put us under a lot of pressure. This was the type of game we needed to expose some of our decision-making errors when we face pressure."

After the kickoff time was moved back an hour, the first half brought a lot of back and forth action with short possessions for each team. Both teams had chances towards net but no goals to speak for. Just about 15 minutes in, Bryce Ramler went down with an injury and would not return in the match. This made way for eventual game-winning goal scorer Rylan Boldt to play most of the match.

The second half brought a lot more of the same kind of action but the Bruins seemed to settle in a little bit. A Falcons player went down with an injury in the 60th minute. The stoppage in play lasted roughly 25 minutes. The last 30 minutes after the stoppage became intense as both teams had great chances towards the net. Bruins goalkeeper Cameron Braswell had several key saves to keep the match 0-0. When the draw was imminent, Rylan Boldt broke through the Falcons' defensive line and touched it past the keeper and put it in the net for the game-winner in the 87th minute. The Falcons had one last chance with a header in the 88th minute before Braswell made a miraculous save leading to the Bruins 1-0 win.

"Through it all, I can't be more proud of the team," Coach Fulton said. "This was a gritty win that is necessary to be champions. We found a way to win and now we enter a short break to recover and refocus going into the post season."

This Bruins team has not lost in over a month and continues to beat quality opponents. They play next October 26 at 7:00 p.m. against Carolina University at Alumni Stadium!
