Bruins Soar Over Screaming Eagles

On Friday night from Toccoa Falls, Georgia, the Bob Jones University Bruins soared to a 3-0 victory over their NCCAA South Region rival Toccoa Falls College. With today's win, the Bruins remain undefeated in region play and have improved to a 22-10 season record.

As today's contest got underway, the Bruins got off to a sizable lead to begin Friday night's match. Toccoa Falls College worked to trim down the lead, but the Bruins continued to hustle and held on. Bob Jones quickly finished set one on top 25-15 to take the 1-0 match lead.
 
Set two began with Bethany Estell serving the Bruins to a 4-0 lead. With their fans cheering them on, the Screaming Eagles began to come alive as they worked to cut down at the Bruins lead. But the Bruins held to their advantage and finished the second set 25-20.
 
With a similar start to the first two sets, the Bruins pulled ahead to an early 8-1 lead. They continued to dominate and soon saw themselves leading 20-8. The Bruins completed the sweep with a 25-15 set three victory.

Following today's match, Head Coach Vickie Denny said, "we are thankful for the win on the road today. Toccoa always brings a loud home crowd so it was good for us to compete in that type of environment and get the W."

The Bruins will have minimal time for recover as they are back home in the Davis Field House tomorrow with a 2 p.m. match against Paine College.
