Bruins Secure Region One Seed with Win

The Bruins secure the one seed in the NCCAA South Region tonight with a 5-0 win over the Trinity Baptist College Eagles.

"Tonight was all about being number one in the region and securing that spot," Head Coach Greg Fulton said. "We really had to earn it, but it's only a step in the right direction as we want to win the regional tournament."

The Bruins controlled the whole entire game and it showed right away in the first half. Bryce Ramler got the scoring going in the 10th minute and just two minutes later, Asher Aurednik followed with a goal of his own in the 12th minute. The Eagles were barely able to possess the ball because the Bruins defense and midfield was solid. In the 37th minute, Eli Solomon scored to extend the lead to 3-0 going into halftime.

The control continued in the second half. Bruins goalkeeper Miguel Giraldo made his season debut tonight as he came in for Cam Braswell to play the second half. In the 52nd minute, Mario Figueroa finally found the back of the net after two good shots were saved in the first half by Eagles goalkeeper. Then in the 63rd minute, Asher Aurednik scored his second goal of the night to make it a 5-0 score. That score held until the final whistle.

The Bruins next game is Tuesday, October 8 as they take on King University at Alumni Stadium with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff time.

Coach Fulton encourages everyone to come out and support. "It's so exciting to be out here watching the guys showing off their hard work," he said. "This team has the caliber to go win it all and we absolutely want your support."
