After a late Friday night, the Bruins were back on the court for day two of the the BJU Invitational Tournament. In game one, the Bruins fell 3-1 to Boyce College before sweeping Regent University 3-0.

"We learned a lot of lessons this weekend, and it was good to finish with a win today," said Assistant Coach Christa Schlichting.

Today's contest against Boyce College marked the third meeting between the Bruins and Bulldogs. As today's game got underway, the Bruins and Bulldogs exchanged points early before Boyce went on a seven point run to take the 10-3 lead. The Bulldogs fed the ball to #5 Olivia Rau who found the gaps in the Bruins defense. BJU tried working their way back into the game, but a service error followed by an attack error by the Bruins closed out the first set with Boyce on top 25-18.

It was a better start for the Bruins in set two as both programs battled for every point. With Boyce leading the Bruins 18-16, point by point the Bruins fought their way back to earn nine consecutive points and take set two in a 25-18 decision.

Faith Blalock, Emily Lewis, and Hannah Goodwin made several timely kills to keep the score close at the beginning of set three. Boyce then went on a six point run to take the lead away from the Bruins. It remained close through the last few points, but in the end it was the Bulldogs who pulled out the 25-22 set win.

The Bruins went on a five point scoring spree as a massive block by Emily Lewis sealed the 18-17 lead for BJU. It remained tight through the final points, but Boyce completed the 3-1 match win with a 25-22 set four win.

After a brief break, the Bruins were back on the court to face Regent University in their final match of the weekend. Today's match against the Royals marked the sixth meeting between the two volleyball programs.

Regent got off to a quick lead before the Bruins evened the score at eight apiece. It remained close through the rest of the set and the Bruins pulled out the 25-22 win to take set one. The second set looked very similar to the first one as the two programs battled for each point. A kill by Faith Blalock from Hayley Prater sealed the deal for BJU in the 25-22 set win. Wanting to wrap up the match, the Bruins started the third set out strong with a 5-0 advantage. Regent immediately responded with five points of their own.
