The Bruins are back at Alumni Stadium this weekend with a match against Pfeiffer University Friday night and a match against Allen University Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins are 2-1 all time against the Pfeiffer University Falcons with their most recent meeting resulting in a big 4-1 win last season on the road. The Bruins had a rocky start as the Falcons scored less than a minute into the game. After that, the match was controlled by the Bruins. Both Sylvia and Elli Cummings scored in the match to help lead the Bruins to victory.Â
Then on Saturday, the Bruins are facing off against the Allen University Yellow Jackets for just the second time in program history. Their first meeting last season resulted in a 3-0 Bruins win. The Bruins were able to control the pace of the game and create chances starting with their defense. Goalkeeper Margaret Cummings had six saves in the affair.
This will be the fourth time this season that the Bruins have back-to-back match days. They are coming off of a week of rest and training and Coach Carmichael believes they are ready for another challenging weekend.
Kickoff for Friday's match is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and Saturday's match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. with both games at Alumni Stadium, here in Greenville, South Carolina.
