The Bob Jones University women's basketball team is looking to extend their win streak as they make their way to Toccoa Falls, Georgia for a Tuesday night tilt against their NCCAA South Region rivals, Toccoa Falls College, before traveling to Rock Hill, South Carolina for a Wednesday night game against Clinton College.
The Bruins come into the new week 7-11 on the season after back-to-back wins against Southeastern Baptist College and Warren Wilson College over the weekend. The Screaming Eagles are on a four game winning streak as they sit with an 8-9 program record this year.
BJU and the Screaming Eagles faced off against each other in Greenville last week where Toccoa Falls edged out the Bruins in a 70-66 win. Tuesday's game marks the 27th meeting in program history between the Bruins and the Screaming Eagles with Bob Jones leading the all-time series 18-8.
Following Tuesday's game at Toccoa Falls College, the Bruins will make their way to Rock Hill, South Carolina for a midweek game against Clinton College.
The Golden Bears are 9-3 overall this season with a 4-1 record at home. The Bruins and Golden Bears met for the first time in program history in last January where the Bruins pulled out the 61-56 win.
A primary focus for the women's team these next few games is to improve their rebounding. "If we shoot the ball well and play good defense and combine that with things like rebounding and not turning the ball over and we're really going to see some advancement in our performance," said Head Coach Mike LeViere. "Overall our offense is getting better and our defense has been good. We just have to work on rebounding and taking care of the ball."
Tip-off for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Toccoa Falls, Georgia followed by a 6 p.m. start in Rock Hill, South Carolina on Wednesday.
