After celebrating Senior Night pregame, the Bruins couldn't hold off the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats and fall 3-1.
The seniors recognized were Bryce and Braydn Ramler, Roussell Castillo, Asher Aurednik, and Rhys Solomon. To begin the game, the Bruins sent on the injured Roussell Castillo and Braydn Ramler to have their senior day moment. After the Bruins kicked the ball out, the match began. The offensive pressure began right away from both teams. Back-and-forth it went until the Bruins struck first on a beautiful shot by Noah Burkett for his first goal on the season. Burkett played a great game today for the Bruins. Just about 10 minutes later, the Wildcats pressure forced a mistake by the Bruins defense and they capitalized to tie it at 1-1. That score held until halftime.
Knotted at 1-1 to begin the second half, both teams were fighting to break the draw. The Bruins had some golden opportunities early on the half in the 48th, 53rd, and 59th minute, but they came up empty. The Wildcats broke the draw in the 60th minute which the caused the Bruins to scurry from behind. They had more chances to tie it back up, but the Wildcats defense held strong against many free-kick opportunities. The one final dagger came in the 88th minute when the Wildcats added to their lead. In the end, the Bruins fell 3-1.
The Bruins now have a week off before traveling south to Pensacola to take on the Eagles from Pensacola Christian College. That match will most likely decide final seeding for the region tournament coming in less than a month.
