The Bob Jones University women's volleyball team picked up a decisive road win on Saturday afternoon, sweeping Warren Wilson College 3-0 inside the Devries Athletic Center in Swannanoa, North Carolina.
"The win in straight sets was what we needed," said #13 Madison Goldstrom. "We earned the win together with everybody contributing at different times."
As today's game got underway, Bob Jones and Warren Wilson traded points early, with eight lead changes and 11 ties keeping the opening frame tight. The Bruins went on a 6-1 run to pull ahead late in the set. They soon closed it out to secure the 25-18 victory.
The Bruins carried the energy into the second set. They made quick work and ran away with a 25-10 win to take a 2-0 match lead.
Looking to close the sweep, the Bruins stayed aggressive. Despite a push by the Owls early, the Bruins regained control and went on a 7-1 run to seal the match with a 25-12 set win.
With the 3-0 win, Bob Jones improves to 8-12Â on the season.
The Bruins put down eight service aces with Hayley Prater tallying three and Lois Bido adding two to the total. Hannah Goodwin led the team with 12 kills in the contest.Â
Up next, the team is back in the Davis Field House for a Tuesday evening matchup against Johnson & Wales University.Â
