Coming off of a big win last night, the Bruins showed their offensive firepower again as they beat Mid-Atlantic Christian University 83-45 to close their successful weekend on the road.
"We've started to play some good ball," Head Coach Mike LeViere said. "We can now use the upcoming break to get healthier and come back stronger."
The Bruins continued their offensive rhythm today that they ended with last night. After jumping out to an early lead, they didn't look back and the lead continued to grow. The scoring was spread through the whole team with many Bruins getting good shots. The Bruins had a great second quarter outscoring the Mustangs 32-14 to jump out in front and take a commanding halftime lead. The Bruins continued the control in the second half to win 83-45. "A lot of this success the past couple days is due to more rhythm, better decision-making, and strength with the ball," Coach LeViere said.Â
Faith Hayward led the team with 17 points while Anna Layne Wylder had 16. Keely Price ended the day with 15 points and 12 rebounds to go with it. Freshman Peyton Teague had a great day from beyond the arc going 3-4 from three and finishing with 11 points.
The Bruins now have a week off for the week of Thanksgiving before returning to the court on Tuesday, December 2 as they travel to Columbia International University who they have already beaten this year.
