The postseason is here and the Bob Jones University volleyball team is in Pensacola, Florida on the hunt for their fourth straight NCCAA DII South Region Championship title.
Seeding for the tournament is as follows:
- #1 - Pensacola Christian College
- #2 - Bob Jones University
- #3 - Baptist University of Florida
- #4 - Toccoa Falls College
- #5 - Trinity College of Florida
The Bruins kick off the region tournament in a semifinal match against #3 Baptist University of Florida at 5 p.m. on Friday. It's win or go home as the two teams battle for a spot in the title game on Saturday.
The Bruins and BUF Eagles met twice this season with each team coming away with a win. On September 6, it was a battle for each point, but in the end it was Baptist University of Florida that came out ahead in the 3-1 win. A week later, the Bruins traveled down to Florida to face the Eagles again. This time, the team came out strong and finished the game in straight sets.
Since then, the Bruins have gone to a 16-14 season record and currently hold a six game winning streak. On the other side of the court, the BUF Eagles enter the postseason 12-16 in their inaugural season.
Throughout the regular season, the Bruins have played each of the other south region teams and are 3-2 in region play.
