Bruins Blow Out Centurions on Senior Day

It was a very successful Senior Day celebration in the Davis Field House today as the Bruins beat the Carolina Christian Centurions 108-55.

"I am really happy that a lot of guys got to play and contribute," Head Coach Burton Uwarow said. "It is great for our team to play a game after being off for a week and having so much sickness."

The Bruins were able to get out to a double-digit lead early and never looked back. It was an all-senior starting five for the Bruins with Devin Pope, Devin Dean, Tostadas Pouncey, Trevor Brunson, and Josh Dorsey. The points were spread among the Bruins players all game long with nine players going into hafltime with points. The Bruins went into halftime with a 46-32 lead.

The domination by the Bruins only got bigger in the second half. The Bruins forced 10 turnovers and only allowed 23 points in the half. The points continued to spread for everyone and eight players finished the game with double-figures in points. Devin Pope led the way with 16 points while Devin Dean, Trevor Brunson, Josh Dorsey, and Justin Skelton all finished with 13 points. Shad Vander Hart scored 12 and Braxton Murray and Drew Cannon both finished with 10. This kind domination gave the Bruins a huge win over the Centurions on Senior Day.

Even with the big win, Coach Uwarow still thinks there is more for this Bruins team to grasp onto. "We still have not peaked yet," he said. "I hope we can get dramatically better at shooting before time runs out. Great team win and attitude. Great job shooting free throws and rebounding today."

Their next game is Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Trinity Baptist College Eagles in the Davis Field House!
