VOLLEYBALL KIDS CAMP

About:
This is a beginning volleyball skills camp to help both boys and girls develop the basic skills necessary to play the game of volleyball. Laying a solid foundation of basic skills with a fun and competitive atmosphere is the focus of this camp. There is also a daily Bible challenge. Parent's are welcome to attend Wednesday's scrimmage at 11 a.m.

Cost:

$140 ($165 after April 1)

Check-in Time:
Daily from 8:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. in Davis Field House lower lobby

Camp Ends:
Camp ends each day at 11:30 a.m.

Attendees:

1st - 6th Grade (boys and girls)

What to expect:
  • Begin learning the game of volleyball in a fun, competitive setting with experienced staff.
  • Individual instruction of basic skills including serving, passing, and hitting and floor defense in small groups.
  • Play lead-up games to put instruction into practice
  • Gain the necessary confidence to be an effective competitor in the proper spirit of Christian sportsmanship
  • Daily Bible study and devotionals from college players and coaching staff
  • Final skill demonstration where parents are welcome to attend (Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.)

Meet Coach Christa Schlichting:
Coach Christa Schlichting has a diverse experience of coaching at the high school and college levels. She has been part of the Bruins volleyball coaching staff that has won five straight NCCAA DII National Championships and in 2020, Schlichting was named the National Assistant Coach of the Year by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She enjoys teaching the sport and helping players develop individual skills as well as challenging players from God's Word.
