Shelbie Wix

Shelbie Wix stepped into her current role as Bruins Athletics Office Manager in August, 2025 after completing her Master's degree in Sport Administration & Coaching at BJU.

While completing her latest degree, Shelbie served as the graduate assistant coach to Dr. Chris Carmichael for the Bruins women's soccer team for the 2023 and 2024 seasons where she was part of two national championship teams. Her coaching experience expanded further in the summer of 2025, working alongside Dr. Denny Scott at Bruins Golf Camp and Coach Christa Schlichting at Bruins Volleyball Camp.

Prior to coming to BJU, Shelbie attended Pensacola Christian College, earning a double major in Sport Management and Biblical Studies with a minor in Secondary Education. After graduation, she spent a year in Charleston, South Carolina, before beginning graduate school in the summer of 2023.

Shelbie grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was homeschooled from 1st through 12th grade and spent much of her childhood alongside her four cousins. Sports quickly became a central part of her life—she played both co-ed and girls’ soccer throughout middle and high school, even scoring the championship-winning goal when her team reached the conference finals for the very first time.

Outside of academics and athletics, Shelbie has a creative side—she plays three different types of guitars. Hockey holds a special place as her favorite sport, and in March of 2024 she celebrated one of her greatest victories: beating thyroid cancer.
