The Bruins volleyball team returns home to the Davis Field House for the first time since their season opener as the team will welcome Carolina University and Life University in a tri-match. The Bruins enter Friday's at 3-2 on the season after splitting their road tri-match on Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee.
For the first match of the day, the Bruins will be paired with Carolina University. The two teams met earlier this season in North Carolina with Carolina defeating BJU in a five-set thriller 3-2.
After dropping the first two sets, the Bruins stormed back to force a fifth set but Carolina wouldn't be denied as they won the fifth set 15-8. Victoria Glaze led the Bruins with 15 kills and 13 digs in the match. This was the first time in their history that Carolina had defeated BJU in seven meetings between the two programs.
In the second match of the day, the Bruins will face Life University from Marietta, Georgia. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two volleyball programs as the Running Eagles will play in their season opener. Life University finished the 2019 season at 20-11 overall where they advanced to the semifinals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament before falling to Lindsey Wilson College.
This will also be senior night for the Bruins during the match as the team will honor Brooke Beaver and Brittany Annand, the two seniors on the squad this season. Tip-off for the matches will be 4 p.m. (vs. Carolina) and 8 p.m. (vs. Life University).
