The Lady Bruins volleyball team is on the road Friday night as they face Carolina University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Bruins enter the match at 1-0 overall after opening their 2020 season with a 3-0 sweep of Toccoa Falls College. Brooke Beaver led the way for the team with 13 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces in the win.
Carolina University will welcome BJU for their season opener on Friday. Formerly called Piedmont International University, the two Bruins teams have met six times in their history with BJU winning each of those matches. In fact, the Bruins are a perfect 18-0 in sets played against Carolina University.
Last season, the Bruins faced Carolina twice with BJU winning both matches. The Bruins varsity reserve squad will also be competing on Friday in Winston-Salem as they face Surry Community College.
Tip-off for the varsity match between BJU and Carolina is set for 5 p.m.
