A double header on Saturday saw two victories for the women's soccer team. The Bruins earned a 4-0 victory at home against Great Lakes Christian College before traveling to Agnes Scott College for a 3 p.m. match where they won 4-0 helping secure the best start in program history.
"I am very proud of the effort today and the team did an amazing job to get two wins in one day," said Head Coach Chris Carmichael. "We were able to exert our will and take control of the game very quickly and did a great job creating numerous goal scoring opportunities."
Just three minutes in to the game, Mia Marks would score her 9th goal of the season to give the Bruins the 1-0 advantage. The Bruins would score two more times in the first half with a goal in the 14th minute by Anna Grace Abrams and three minutes later a third goal by Brinkley Adams.Â
Brinkley Adams would send the ball to Anna Grace Abrams in the 50th minute to seal the deal for the Bruins with a 4-0 result.
"Even with tired legs from our morning win we came out hard and pushed to get some great goals," said midfielder Caroline Hartzler. "We kept the momentum going in the second half, even with playing a new formation."
"Right now we need a lot of recovery to get ready for our games next week but the team has done a fantastic job lifting our program to the best start in our program history," said Carmichael.
But the team won't get much time to rest as they have a Monday afternoon match against Weslyan College at Alumni Stadium.Â
