The Bruins volleyball team will be on the road this weekend as the team faces a strong field of NCAA D3 competition in the Tornado Classic at Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina. The Bruins come into the weekend on the heels of facing Brevard College in their home opener on Thursday night.
The team will play a pair of matches on Friday kicking off with Salem College at 2 p.m. The Spirits enter the match at 6-1 on the season having won three straight matches including a 3-0 sweep of Ferrum College on Tuesday night. This will be the first-ever matchup between the two programs.
In the second match of the day, the Bruins will face Huntingdon College at 4 p.m. The Bruins and Hawks met last week in Alabama with Huntingdon coming away with a 3-1 victory. The Hawks enter Friday's match having lost three of their last four matches including a 3-0 loss to Rhodes College on Saturday.
On Saturday, the Bruins will face the host of the tournament Brevard College at 12 p.m. The Bruins and Tornadoes played on Thursday night in the Davis Field House for the Bruins home opener. This will be fifth meeting between the two programs.
The Bruins will wrap up the weekend on Saturday afternoon as the team faces Methodist University at 4 p.m. The Monarchs enter the weekend at 5-2 on the season following back to back wins over Greensboro College and Ferrum College. This will be the first meeting since the 2019 season for the Bruins and Monarchs with the Bruins sweeping Methodist 3-0 in their last matchup.
