The women's basketball traveled to North Greenville University tonight for an exhibition game against the Crusaders. The teams clashed on the court for third time in program history. This meeting went in favor of North Greenville 85-49.
The Bruins started out strong as they held their own through the first quarter of play. They trailed the Crusaders 11-16, but would struggle into the second quarter as the Crusaders pulled away. The first half finished 26-38 North Greenville. As the second half got underway, the Bruins couldn't seem to buy a bucket as the Crusaders started the third quarter with a 17-0 run for the first five and half minutes. After thirty minutes of play, the score was 34-61 Crusaders. Moving into the final quarter, the Bruins were just trying to find a way to finish strong. The final score from Tigerville, South Carolina was 49-85 North Greenville.
"With the limited personnel the team performed really well. We're still developing and learning our defense and offense," Head Coach Mike LeViere began. "This was a definite improvement over the last outing. As long as we are improving and growing, we count it as a success."
Up next, the Bruins have the rest of the week off as they head into Thanksgiving break and battle through early injuries and sickness. The Bruins next game is scheduled for November 28 at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. For more Bruins content, be sure to check BJUbruins.com.
