The women's basketball team made their way to cross town school Furman University for an exhibition game tonight. The Paladins outperformed the Bruins in a big way and shutdown any chance of keeping pace on the scoreboard. The final score came out Furman on top 124-44.
The Bruins started strong in the first quarter with four straight three-pointers in a 12-8 lead. Shea Dickinson started the scoring followed by Anna Layne Wylder. Dickinson made her second three-pointer about a minute later with Catherine Skebo making the fourth. That's when the Paladins said that was enough. They took the lead back and never looked back.
The Paladins had a deep bench and were much bigger than the Bruins making it difficult to score on them. The Paladins went on a 20-2 run to start the second quarter. Hallie Ritter broke the run and got her first points of the night with a nice jumper and Shea pulled up for her third three-pointer of the night. The half ended 64-19.
A long first half for the Bruins and a long second half still to go. Hallie Ritter, Julia Weigle, and Anna Layne Wylder each contributed to the score during the third quarter. Annie Miller and Caitlyn Dickerson both contributed during the fourth quarter. Julia Weigle posted the last shot for the Bruins with a three-pointer to finish the game 124-44.
