The volleyball team is on the road this week to face the Brevard College Tornados. The Bruins just finished the South Regional Tournament where they went 3-1 on the weekend and improved to 7-1 overall. With all the tournament prep, this match will be a nice change of pace for the team.
Brevard College volleyball is sitting at 2-3 on their season with their latest win coming from a tough 4-set match vs Warren Wilson. After the first two sets, Brevard and Warren Wilson would be tied at 1-1 and after set 3, Brevard would take the advantage going into the fourth. The fourth set would be an all out battle for the point as the two teams were neck and neck. Brevard would just sneak out the win as they won the set 25-23 to finish out the match.
BJU is also coming off some impressive wins. Over the weekend, the team played Toccoa Falls, Pensacola Christian College, Trinity College FL, and Trinity Baptist College. The only match the Bruins would lose would be to host school, Toccoa Falls, in a 2-3 5-set battle. In each of the other three matches, the Bruins would dominate the court and sweep each of their remaining opponents.
The last time the Bruins and Brevard Tornados met, the Bruins won a 3-set match 25-15, 25-16, and 25-15. The Bruins have won the last five matchups against the Tornados, but the Tornados have made it interesting a couple times.
The match is set to start at 6:00 p.m. at Brevard College in North Carolina.
