After a short day of rest, the Bruins were back on the road to face Warren Wilson in Asheville, North Carolina. This is the Owls first season competing in women's volleyball, so this was a huge step for them. The Bruins would take the match in a 3-0 sweep.
The Bruins have been having an outstanding season and with the win over the Owls, it's that much better. They improved to 13-2 on the season.
The match would start out tight for most of the first set, but the Bruins kept their cool and were able to put together a quality. The Bruins took the early 1-0 lead before moving into the second set. The second set was just as exciting as several Bruins contributed to the second set win
. Moving into set three, the Owls played hard, but they couldn't stop the Bruins from getting the job done. The Bruins won the three sets 25-18, 25-18, and 25-20.
"They came out with aggressive play on both offense and defense and made us earn our points for the win. As a new program they are solid and are well coached," said Head Coach Vickie Denny. "Glad we were able to get another win on the road before our much needed weekend break."
Up next, the Bruins will have another road match where they will travel to Demorest, GA to face Piedmont University on September 26.Â
