The Bob Jones University powered past the Morris College Hornets with a 3-0 sweep Thursday night from the Davis Field House. The Bruins now sit at 18-8 on the season to continue a 13-game winning streak.
 
"This game was very helpful for us as we were able to get in a lot of different rotations and lineups and get all of our players in the game and contribute," said Assistant Coach Victoria Dunwoody.
 
As today's game got underway, several service and attack errors by BJU put points on the board for Morris College. The Bruins pulled ahead to a sizable lead and closed out the opening set on a six-point streak with a final score of 25-9.
 
A kill by Madison Goldstrom opened the second set scoring. The Bruins scored four straight to gain an early advantage. Throughout the contest, the Bruins experimented with several different lineups to allow the everyone on the team to get playing time. Another kill by Goldstrom wrapped up the second set 25-9.
 
After a three-minute break, the two teams were back on the court again as BJU looked to wrap up the match.
 
Elyse Vest went to the service line to start the final set. The freshman went on to hit 25 consecutive serves including six aces as the Bruins shutout the Hornets 25-0 to complete the sweep.
 
"We're working on eliminating our errors and it was good to see how we need to stay consistent and eliminate errors on our side of the court," said Dunwoody.
 
When speaking of the third set, Dunwoody commented, "Elyse Vest has been serving great all season, so we weren't surprised that she served all 25 in a row, but it was great to see."
 
The Bruins are back home next Wednesday for an afternoon match against Piedmont University.
