Brandon Autry to Represent BJU at NCCAA National Golf Championship

The NCCAA announced today that Bruins golfer Brandon Autry, has qualified as an individual golfer and will represent Bob Jones University at the NCCAA Men's Golf National Championship October 21-23. Over the course of three rounds, the 54-hole stroke-play tournament will be held in Palm Coast, Florida at the Hammock Beach Resort's Coservatory Course.

"No one on the Bruins golf team has worked harder to improve his golf game than Brandon has over the past year," said Head Coach Denny Scott. "His efforts have resulted in him consistently being the #1 golfer on our team this fall season as he has posted multiple rounds under-par in practices, in qualifying, and in tournaments."

Junior Business Administration major, Brandon Autry, has risen to the top of the Bruins leaderboard this season. On September 5 at the Alice Lloyd Invitational, Autry finished the tournament in second place with back-to-back personal best rounds (73+71). At the NCCAA South Regional Tournament on September 24, Autry continued to perform well and led the competition after the first round with a score of 71. He wrapped up the regional tournament only one shot over par to tie for fourth individually.

"Brandon has earned this opportunity to pursue the goal of being recognized as an NCCAA All-American golfer which is given to the top-ten individual finishers at the National Championship. Only two other Bruins in program history have earned this achievement (Tyler Smith and Grant Bagwell), and Brandon's scoring averages are equal to theirs. He is very deserving of this chance to play at Nationals. He is a delight to coach and has been highly motivated in pursing this goal," said Scott.

This will be Autry's second time competing at the NCCAA National Tournament as he played with the Bruins golf team last year in Palm Coast, Florida.
