The Bruins golf team is all set to compete for a national championship in Palm Coast, Florida. The NCCAA National Tournament is held at Hammoch Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida October 20-22. The Bruins will be competing against Asbury University, Bethel University, Cedarville University, Columbia International University, Malone University, Ottawa University Arizona, University of Northwestern, and Wayland Baptist University.
Last season, Brandon Autry was the only one to compete at the national tournament for the Bruins because the team did not earn a bid. This season, however, the Bruins won an at-large bid after the regional tournament.
The golfers competing for the Bruins are Brandon Autry, Dakota Holt, Eli DeVaughn, DJ Waller, and Conner Ingle. These five have been the best consistent golfers for the Bruins this season and even bring experience to the course they'll be playing on. Autry has obviously played here, but Holt knows the course from caddying Autry at the tournament last season. Waller has competed on the course in junior tournaments since he grew up nearby. DeVaughn and Ingle will use the practice round to their advantage to learn the "ins and outs."
"We are determined to give our best effort at Nationals to represent Bob Jones University and to bring glory and honor to the Lord for this opportunity he has given us," Head Coach Denny Scott said.
