Five Bruins Earn All-American Status at Cross Country Championships

At the conclusion of the NCCAA DII National Championship meet, the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) awarded five Bob Jones University Bruins cross country runners with All-American honors. The All-American team recognition is based upon finishing results at the national meet with the top-ten finishers being awarded the honor.

The 2024 championship meet took place on Friday, November 15 in Warsaw, Indiana where the men's team captured the championship team and the women's team finished runner up.

With her eighth place individual finish, Joanna Lain crossed the finish line second for the Bruins with a time of 20:42.3 to earn her third career All-American honor. Trenton Goldsmith finished seventh in the men's 8k with a time of 28:22.5 to wrap up his Bruins career as a back-to-back All-American. Evan Seaman (fourth overall with a time of 27:43.4), Joy Hast (sixth overall with a time of 20:15.6), and Kristen Dodds (ninth overall with a time of 21:09.9) each raced to their first All-American finish.

"An All-American isn't just about speed or endurance; it's about heart, dedication, and the will to push beyond," said Head Coach Ken Roach. "Today these athletes showed what is beneath the running shoes and performed like a champion in every sense of the word. They carried the weight of leadership on their shoulders and lifted this team's performance with their example."
