Going into an anticipated season of returning all players, the Bruins women's basketball team is adding three new student-athletes that will add to the excitement.
"We're always excited and wouldn't have recruited them if we didn't think they could play at our level," Head Coach Mike Leviere said. "Most of them were recruited to play elsewhere and we're grateful they chose to come here."
Peyton Teague:
Peyton is coming to Bob Jones University from Siler City, North Carolina. As a key piece to her high school team, she looks to make the same difference for the Bruins. "She has the propensity to make things happen on the court," Coach LeViere said. She is majoring in Biology.
Larkin Wright:
Larkin is from Charlottesville, Virginia. Playing basketball and volleyball in high school, she chose to stay on the court with a basketball coming to college. "Her quickness and great instincts are one of the first things that stand out on the court," said Coach LeViere. The guard is studying Kinesiology.
Savannah Taylor:
Savannah is a guard from Raleigh, North Carolina. As a part of the 1,000 point club in high school, she wants to translate her scoring to the college court. Coach LeViere credits her play saying "she has a great shot and rebounds extremely well. We'll be anticipating her clearance to play." With a passion for taking photos, her major is Photography.
"We are looking forward to each of these freshmen joining the returners on and off the court. The coaching staff is extremely grateful to be able to add these talented young ladies to our team. They have great backgrounds and families and we look forward to having them be a part of the BJU family for years to come," Coach LeViere closed.
This talented class and the rest of the Bruins women's basketball team is looking forward to starting their season at Southern Wesleyan University on October 29. Their full schedule can be seen
