The Bob Jones University women's basketball team put together their first home win of the season in a 67-51 victory over Columbia International University on Saturday in the Davis Field House. With today's result, the Bruins have improved to 2-1 on the season.

As today's game got underway, Faith Hayward opened the scoring from outside the arc to put the Bruins on the board. They soon moved to a 7-0 lead through the first three minutes of play. Columbia International evened the score 10-10 with 2:34 left in the first quarter. At the end of opening quarter, the Bruins led the Rams 17-12.

Through the second frame, the Bruins struggled and shot only 20% from the field but still led the Rams 24-20 going into halftime.

After halftime, the Rams pulled ahead to their first lead of the game. Their lead didn't last long before a three-point basket by Jenna Brooks put Bruins back on top. The advantage remained through the rest of quarter to see the Bruins lead 44-40 after 30 minutes of play.

The Bruins wrapped up the game with their highest scoring quarter. The team produced 23 points with Jenna Brooks and Faith Hayward contributing eight each. At the final whistle, it was the Bruins in the win column 67-51.

Three Bruins players finished in double figures with Jenna Brooks leading the way with 23 points on the night. Keely Price recorded a double double with 12 rebounds and 10 points.

After a busy week of games, the Bruins will have the rest of the weekend to rest before they are back in the Davis Field House on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest against Brevard College.
