Lloyd Named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named senior Interdisciplinary Studies major Anne Lloyd the DII Defensive Player of the Week for women's volleyball.

Last week, the Bruins went 2–1, moving their season record to 4–8. Lloyd stood out defensively, recording 20+ digs in each match with 26 against Brevard College, 25 against Huntingdon College, and 22 against Baptist University of Florida for a total of 73 digs, averaging more than six per set. From the libero position, she was also effective in serve receive, tallying 76 receptions with only three errors. Offensively, she added seven service aces on the week, including six in the match against Huntingdon.

"Anne is an important piece of our team defense and a leader on our court," said Coach Christa Schlichting. "I am glad she is being recognized by the NCCAA for her hard work on the defensive side."

This is the third Student-Athlete of the Week award of the season for the Bob Jones University Bruins and the second for the women's volleyball team.

The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport. BJU is NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and nearly 200 student-athletes.
