Aurednik Named NCCAA Student-Athlete of the Week

The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has named Business Administration major Asher Aurednik the DII Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer. This is the second time in his career he has gotten this honor.

The Bruins played in two matches last week, both resulting in wins. In the 5-1 win over USC Salkehatchie, Aurednik tallied one assist and created space for other teammates to score. It was the 5-2 win against NCAA DII opponent Shorter University where Aurenik shined. Out of the five goals scored, Aurednik had a big part in three of them. In the first half, he got out to a hot start tallying an assist and goal in the first 20 minutes of the match. Later in the match, just seconds before the final whistle blew, Aurednik capped off a great day with another goal.

This is the first Student-Athlete of the Week award for the men's soccer team this season.

The Student-Athlete of the Week award is chosen by the NCCAA and recognizes the play of student-athletes in their respective sport. BJU is NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and nearly 200 student-athletes.
