The Bob Jones University women's basketball team fell on the road in a 62-51 loss to Clinton College on Monday night.
Monday's game marked the fourth meeting between the Bruins and Golden Bears. At the end of January, the Bruins hosted Clinton College in the Davis Field House where they picked up the 76-51 win.
As today's game got underway, the two teams kept it close through the opening quarter with each team putting up 17 points.
In the second quarter, the Golden Bears pulled ahead to a slight advantage. At halftime, the Bruins went back to the locker room trailing 31-29.
After the break, the Bruins found themselves down by 11 points, but then went on a scoring spree to close the deficit.
Heading into the final frame, the Bruins saw themselves down by just four points. With just over five minutes remaining in the contest, the Bruins pulled within one. At the final buzzer, it was Clinton College on top 62-51 over Bob Jones.
With today's loss, the Bruins now sit at 7-13 on the season.
The Bruins will have the remainder of the week to rest and recover before playing their final home game of the season on Saturday for Senior Day. Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 1 p.m. against Toccoa Falls College in the Davis Field House.
