The Bruins men's soccer team has released their
2026 season schedule, and they are looking forward to the opportunity to get back on top of regional and national rankings.
"I am excited about the challenge of this year's schedule," Head Coach Greg Fulton said. "It continues to be the toughest in the nation and that is no mistake! We're pursuing unity and excellence, and that's what this schedule demands if we want to be successful."
Last season, the Bruins were the reigning national champions in a rebuild year after losing many players from the year prior. They finished with a 6-8-3 record with a very tough schedule that featured some very talented teams. The Bruins made it all the way to the region championship game where the season ended after losing in extra time to Toccoa Falls College. The team is looking for a bounce-back season and believes they have what it takes.
The regular season home opener is August 21 when they welcome Bluefield University to Alumni Stadium for a 7 p.m. match. This will mark the first of eight home matches for the Bruins this season. They will have three big opportunities at home to avenge losses from last season against Newberry College on September 15, Tusculum University on October 13, and Montreat College on October 24.
The first NCCAA South Region match for the Bruins comes on September 19 when they travel to Jacksonville, Florida to square off against Trinity College of Jacksonville. The other team regular season region matches will be played at Alumni Stadium. Toccoa Falls College comes to town on September 29 for a highly anticipated match. A couple weeks later, region rival Pensacola Christian College comes for a prime time match on October 10.
The NCCAA DII South Region Tournament will be hosted by Trinity College of Jacksonville this year during the first week of November. Many expect the same level of drama and excitement as the region battles it out for a title.
Coach Fulton and the Bruins are most looking forward to playing in front of their home crowd at Alumni Stadium. "The biggest highlight is playing in front of our fans at Alumni Stadium," he said. "There isn't a better feeling than playing at Alumni stadium with the fans out in force! We look forward to connecting with Bruin nation in a few short weeks this fall!"
