The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) has honored two Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer players as Scholar-Athletes for the 2025 fall season. This distinction is awarded to junior, senior, or graduate student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.40 GPA.
Junior Kinesiology major Samuel Gaddis and junior Accounting student-athlete Rivers Hamilton each were awarded this academic recognition. This is the first time both of them been named NCCAA Scholar-Athletes.
"We are always so thankful for the hard work our players put in, especially in the classroom," said Head Coach Greg Fulton. "This is one of my favorite awards to celebrate as it shows tenacity not just on the field but in the classroom as well! It is extremely difficult to excel in both, and we are proud of their accomplishments!"
Gaddis and Hamilton add to Bob Jones University's Scholar-Athlete total for the year. This season, the Bruins have seen 17 NCCAA Scholar-Athletes with six cross country student-athletes, nine women's soccer players, and two men's soccer players.
The 2025 season ended for the Bruins after a 3-2 loss to Toccoa Falls College in the NCCAA DII South Region Championship match. Despite not making it to the national tournament, the men's soccer team had a successful season on and off the pitch wrapping up the year with a 6-8-3 record.
BJU is NCCAA DII member featuring 13 varsity programs and over 200 student-athletes.
