The Bruins are back on the road for a weekend in Florida for their first contests against region opponents at the NCCAA South Region Kickoff tournament. The team enters the weekend with a 1-6 record after falling in a hard-fought game to Truett McConnell University on Tuesday. 

The first game of the weekend is Friday at 1 p.m. against Baptist University of Florida. In just their second season, the BUF Eagles have started out the year with a 5-7 record. Last season, the Bruins and Eagles met three times. After falling in their first-ever meeting 3-1, the Bruins swept the second two meetings to lead the series 2-1. 

The Bruins will close out their competition on Friday against Trinity College of Jacksonville at 3 p.m. The TCJ Eagles are on the hunt for their first win of the season as they hold an 0-6. Since the first ever contest between the Bruins and Eagles in 2016, the Bruins have yet to lose a game to the Eagles and have come out on top in each contest 3-0. 

Saturday, the Bruins will take on another NCCAA opponent, Ohio Christian University at 1 p.m. who are 4-4 on the season. The Bruins and Trailblazers have only met twice with each team picking up a win. 

The Bruins wrap up the weekend with a 3 p.m. contest on Saturday against Pensacola Christian College. The PCC Eagles (6-1) saw their first loss of the season on Tuesday with a five-set loss to Faulkner University. The Bruins and Eagles are no strangers as the two teams have met 27 times in the in the past decade with the Bruins leading the all-time series 23-4.
