As the match began, the Bruins controlled the tempo and began to work their offense looking to strike first. The teams went back and forth with both squads generating quality looks on net. In the 14th minute of action, the Eagles struck first as Angel Adame scored on a low shot into the corner of the net past Joseph Wooster to put Reinhardt in the lead 1-0. The Bruins defensive lapse had given up the lead, and the team was determined to get back into the game. In the 21st minute, the Bruins got the equalizer as a loose ball fell to the feet of Travis Woodham who sent home the goal to make it 1-1. "We had to have the competitive spirit to get back into the game," Woodham said. It didn't take long for the Bruins to strike again as Matt Moore scored in the 27th minute to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead. The Eagles and Bruins exchanged shots as the half came to a close 2-1.

"We had some good finishing in creating opportunities but both teams played a little sloppy in the first half," Coach Jesse McCormick said. "We need to make simple decisions that help us keep the ball."

In the second half, the Eagles came out strong as they looked to get back into the game. Each run was snuffed out by the Bruins defense as the team kept a narrow lead. The Eagles finally capitalized from close range as Shaquille Saunchez net a goal to even the score 2-2. With the score back even, both teams fought desperately to take the lead. The Bruins had several good looks in the second half, but it was the Eagles who had several near-goals in the final minutes. Goalie Joseph Wooster made 4 key saves throughout the second half to keep the game even. As the buzzer sounded, the Bruins and Eagles were headed to overtime.

"We got to play for however long the match is," Coach McCormick said. "It's just a mentality as a team as we continue to build confidence."

As extra time began, the Bruins and Eagles looked to notch the golden goal. The Bruins dominated possession in the opening minutes of extra time and generated great looks on frame. In the 98th minute, Ryan McCarty dribbled through the Eagles defense and touched a beautiful pass to the feet of Travis Woodham, who made a move and placed a beautiful low shot in the corner of the net to give the Bruins a 3-2 victory.

"It was kind of a broken play and I was just trying to give McCarty an option wide and the defender got in front of me so I thought I could beat him as I slid it across to the left and it went in," Woodham said. "We just want to continue to play with confidence and represent Christ well on the field."

With the win, the Bruins improve to 7-6-1 on the season. Travis Woodham led the team with two goals while Matt Moore scored one and had one assist. Ryan McCarty had two assists on the night as the Bruins attempted 13 shots in the match. The Bruins will be on the road this weekend as they travel to Freed-Hardeman on Friday night and Tennessee Temple on Saturday afternoon.
