The Bruins came out on fire in the opening minutes and wasted little time establishing momentum as less than two minutes into the match, Jared Simmons found the back of the net to put the team up 1-0. The team set a strong pace to the game and possessed the ball impeccably as they advanced up the field. The Bruins struck again off a beautiful redirect by AJ Redlinger to extend the lead to 2-0 just over 10 minutes into the match. The team continued to play well and pressure the Skyhawks net with shots, while on defense the backline of Derek Doran, Travis Woodham, Bryce Colon and Josh Harm squelched every opportunity.

The Bruins found the back of the net again in the 23rd minute as a Ryan McCarty set piece landed beautifully at the feet of Karl Walker who finished the play to make it 3-0 Bruins going into the half.

"It was great to see our guys keep fighting out there and creating opportunities for each other," Coach McCormick said. "We knew we had to come out strong in the second half and gave them too many looks we didn't need to give them."

In the second half, it was the Skyhawks who would start out hot as 24 seconds into the half, Roberto Carizzosa scored to pull Point University within two. The Bruins responded just two minutes later as a handball was called in the box giving the Bruins a penalty kick. Travis Woodham took a confident penalty and buried the shot to make it 4-1 Bruins.

The Skyhawks looked to claw their way back into the game and began to try to muscle their way for opportunities to score. In the 71st minute, they finally broke through as TJ Clay scored to pull them back within 2 goals. AJ Redlinger responded in the 83rd minute by putting the nail in the coffin as his goal gave the Bruins a 5-2 win over Point University.

"We had good movement offensively and created quality chances that we were able to put in the back of the net," Coach McCormick said. "We just need make sure we shore up things defensively and stay really sharp."

AJ Redlinger scored two goals for the Bruins while Karl Walker, Jared Simmons and Travis Woodham each scored one. Garrett Martin picked up two assists and John Wilson picked up one assist. The Bruins outshot Point 19-16 including putting 10 shots on frame. The victory hands the Bruins their 3rd straight win and their first conference win of the season to improve to 8-3. Next up, the Bruins will host another conference opponent as they welcome Emmanuel College on Saturday night.
