Camden Jones played his last home game as a Bruin as the
team fell 84-68 against Southern Wesleyan University
The Bruins came into the game with a 9-18 record and were riding high after back to back wins over Piedmont International University. Harsh Greenville weather had cancelled their road test with Southern Wesleyan on Thursday night, but the Davis Field House would prove to be a great setting for these cross-state opponents.

In the first half, Cameron Solomon helped to power the Warriors offense as the senior guard had 17 1st half points. The Warriors were an amazing 10-15 from beyond the arc as the team couldn't seem to miss. The Bruins struggled to keep pace and tried their best to slow down the hot-shooting Warriors. The Bruins closed out the half well but knew they had a hill to climb as the team trailed 49-26 at the break.

"I think I did a bad job of changing our defenses up," Coach Neal Ring said. "We should have gone more man to man at times and I told the guys about six of those threes were on me because of those adjustments. We were determined to come out with a better effort in the second half."

The Bruins responded well in the opening minutes and came out strong, determined to get back into the game. Try as they might, each time the Bruins began a run the Warriors would stop that run and keep the lead. After a made jump shot by Kyle Turner, the Bruins were down 79-62. From there, the Bruins looked to mount one last runbut the hole was just too much to overcome as the Bruins fell to Southern Wesleyan 84-68 at home.

"It's been a good season and I am proud of these guys. We have 8 players come in who are brand new and we get to the end of the season we are playing better than when we started but we are not done," Coach Ring said. "I have to say I am proud of Camden and what he has done for our program. He just has persevered every step of the way. He never gave up and his attitude was always very positive and I am going to miss him and his attitude and effort in our program. He is going to do great things in this world and I am privileged to have been part of his life for the past three years."

Kyle Turner finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Marshall Riddle finished with 16 points and Corey Turner chipped in 16 off the bench. The Bruins had 18 assists on 23 made baskets while winning the rebounding margin 30-29. With the loss, the team falls to 9-19 on the season and will look ahead to the NCCAA DI south regional playoffs in a couple of weeks.
