Box Score Shawn Lipscomb set a new school record with 14 assists and five different players scored in double figures for the Bruins as the team dominated the Pensacola Christian College Eagles in a 92-62 win on Friday night. "It was the best crowd I've ever played in front of in my entire life," Lipscomb said. "
I just felt like it was time to step up and take care of the ball. When we're playing together and playing as a team everyone can hit shots."

as the Bruins defeated PCC 92-62 on Friday night.The Bruins came into the game having lost back to back road games in Ohio last week. The team stood at 9-7 on the season as they welcomed the 9-11 Eagles. In the series against PCC, the Bruins had never defeated the Eagles in Greenville. The Bruins were looking to make history and the Davis Field House was filled to near capacity as over 3,000 fans energized the building as the two teams were set to write the next chapter of this rivalry.
Kyle Turner knocked down a three to get things going for the Bruins in the opening minutes as the team jumped out to an early 10-4 advantage. Bruins guard Shawn Lipscomb helped to drive the Bruins offense and carved up the Eagles defense with crisp passing as the team continued to maintain their lead. Slowly the Eagles began to chip away at the lead and eventually came back and tied the game at 19-19.
With just minutes remaining in the half, Marshall Riddle knocked down a three to help the Bruins regain the lead. The team closed out the half on a 16-0 run capped off by a beautiful buzzer-beater three point shot by Dustin Killough as the Bruins took a 37-21 lead into the break.
"There was a buzz around campus today and everyone was ready for this game," Bruins captain Kyle Turner said. "This game meant a lot to me and I was proud of the guys and the way they played."
In the second half, the Bruins came out looking to continue to ride the momentum they closed the first half with and went on a 13-2 run to open the half as the Bruins stretched their lead to a 50-23 early on. The team played suffocating defense and worked their offense flawlessly as they generated open lanes to score.
The team continued to pour it on as Noah Smith came off the bench and recorded 4 three point shots as the Bruins shot 80% from beyond the arc in the second half. With just over six minutes to go, Ray Holden sent the Bruins fans into a frenzy as he stole the ball and rocked the rim with an emphatic dunk as the Bruins stretched their lead to 83-46. The Eagles tried to mount a run but it was too little too late as the Bruins controlled all aspects of the game in a 92-62 win.
"This was a big game for our program tonight," Coach Ring said. "It demonstrates the growth we've taken and the hard work the players have put in. The crowd was fantastic for us tonight and we really fed off their energy in this game. They brought the noise for us tonight and made it a great environment to be part of. Thankful for our players, our coaches and our fans. It was a pretty special night for us tonight."
Kyle Turner led the Bruins with 19 points while Marshall Riddle scored 17. Shawn Lipscomb had 12 points and 14 assists and Noah Smith added 12 points off the bench. The Bruins shot 50% from beyond the arc for the game and 53% from the field in the win. With the win, the Bruins improved to 10-7 on the season. Next up, the team will welcome Warren Wilson College on Saturday, January 23.
