Three Additional Players Join Bruins Soccer for 2018 Season


Bob Jones University Bruins men's soccer coach, Jesse McCormick, has added three additional players to the roster for the 2018 season. The team announced their recruit class of six players in March. 

"We're excited to add these players to our program," Coach McCormick said. "Each of them are quality young men who should excel both on and off the field at BJU."

Last season, the Bruins with a 5-12-2 record and were eliminated in the pool play round of the NCCAA DII National Tournament. The program graduated four seniors from the team including captains Marvell Lareche and Andrew Kester. The team also will miss striker Jared Simmons who led the team with 7 goals and 2 assists in the 2017 season as well as defenseman Lee Nichols. Here are the three new players joining the squad for the season.  
 
Sebastian Sulik - Poland
 
Sulik has played club soccer for thirteen years in Poland. His club experience includes Cracovia, AP 21, Garbarnia, and AP Profi 23. In addition, Sulik played for his state team and participated in a variety of tryouts in Poland and Germany. He is a versatile player with experience at several positions.
 
Sulik has been involved in his local church in Poland. He played the guitar, piano, and sang in the church choir. Also, he is deeply involved with the children's ministry helping in Sunday school, youth outreaches, and youth camps. He plans to major in Exercise Sciences at BJU this fall.
 
Bradley Tart - North Carolina
 
Tart played his varsity soccer at Wake Christian Academy as a goalkeeper. He captained the team to a 10 win season his senior year and a 12th place finish in the NCISAA 3A division. 
 
Outside of soccer, Tart is active in his church. He participates in a youth choir and multiple small singing groups. He is also active in helping with children's church and plans to study Criminal Justice at BJU.
 
Conley Burk - North Carolina
 
Burk is a three-sport athlete who was voted All-State in soccer, basketball, and baseball in his senior year. He played varsity soccer for Wilmington Christian Academy for 3 years and helped captain his team to back to back NCCSA State titles while amassing a 30-0 conference record over his junior and senior seasons. He set the school's single-season scoring record with 44 goals in his senior year and finished second in career points. During his last two seasons, he was named the MVP of the BJU Invitational Tournament (Junior), NC Maxpreps & United Soccer Coaches Association's Player of the Week, and the Star News All-Area 2nd Team. He was also named one of 2 finalists for the Star News All-Area "Male Athlete of the Year" in his senior year.
 
Outside of the sports arena, Burk participates in Fine Arts and is active in his church. He also fills his summers and weekends serving at The Anchorage Camp with his family.  He plans to major in Exercise Science at BJU this fall.

The Bruins open the 2018 season at home on August 25 as they welcome Spartanburg Methodist College to Alumni Stadium.
