The women's basketball team is back this weekend as the host the Bob Jones University Classic at the Davis Field House. Four other schools will be participating, but the Bruins will be taking on the Carolina University Bruins on Friday and the Welch College Flames Saturday afternoon.
The BJU Bruins are 1-1 on the season after falling to Warren Wilson College 56-64 Tuesday evening. They'll look to get back on the win column in their first game against Carolina University Bruins Friday at 7 p.m. The CU Bruins have dropped their first four games and most recently fell to Johnson and Wales University Monday night. The will mark the ninth meeting in the Battle of the Bruins. BJU won the first five games of this series, but Carolina took the last three wins last season.
It'll be a quick turnaround as the Bruins face Welch College at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Bruins and Flames are 1-1 in their previous meetings, with the Bruins coming away with their last win in 2020. The Flames are 1-2 on the season after falling to Grace University over the weekend.
Tip-off for Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and Saturday's game is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
