The Bruins basketball team battled Wofford College (NCAA DI) on Monday night in their final tune up before the regular season. The Bruins fell to the Terriers in a lopsided game but the Bruins were able to take away some good things in the 120-48 loss.
"This was a great game for all of our new players to realize what it means to play college basketball," Bruins Head Coach Burton Uwarow said. "Wofford is always a great DI opponent and they gave us the chance to see where we need to improve as we prepare for the season."
Henry Blair and Stephan Hugley each finished with 12 points in the game while the Bruins shot just 26% from the field in the loss. The team came into the game on the heels of competing in the blue/white scrimmage on Saturday.
From the opening tip, the Terriers came out strong as the team jumped out to a 15-4 lead. The Bruins tried to battle back but the size differential proved to be difficult to overcome. The Bruins refused to back down, but the Terriers were able to put the game out of reach before the half.
In the second half, the Bruins were able to show some flashes of brilliance offensively but the deficit proved too much to overcome in the loss to Wofford. Next up, the Bruins will open the 2022-23 regular season on Thursday as the team faces Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina.
