After a seven-game homestand to open the season, the Bruins baseball team will be on the road on Tuesday as they face Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Bruins enter Tuesday's game at 0-7 on the season after falling short in a three-game series against Carolina University this weekend.
The Bruins rallied to score 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th in game one, but came up short in a 15-11 loss. The team then rallied late in game three of the series to force extra innings, but again came up short in a 10-7 loss.
Freshman Josh Legnard had a strong performance for the Bruins on the mound in game three as he struck out 11 batters while throwing six strong innings for the team. Unfortunately, runs didn't come at needed times throughout the series as the Bruins finished out the weekend.
The Rams are the defending NCCAA World Series champions but enter Tuesday's game at 6-14 on the season including three straight losses to Tennessee Wesleyan University over the weekend.
The Bruins and Rams met four times last season with the Rams narrowly winning each matchup including winning 4-3 in their final game last season.
The Bruins will look to notch their first win of the season on Tuesday as the team faces the Rams. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Miller Field in Columbia, South Carolina.
