The men's track and field team continued to perform as they saw more personal records and a national qualifying standard at the Lenoir-Rhyne Outdoor Open in Hickory, North Carolina.
"It's great to see the passion in the athletes week to week and the fun they have with racing," said Head Coach Ken Roach. "We are still growing as a team and learning more and more about each other."
At their second meet up in Hickory, North Carolina this season, the Bruins would compete against schools like Appalachian State, Catawba, Newberry, and Wingate.
Starting off strong in the 100 meter run, Luke Fressel qualified for nationals and set a new personal and school record with a time of :11.23. Nathaniel Crowley and teammate Isaac VeraCruz also pulled out PRs in the 100 meter distance.
Racing again in the 200 meter race, Luke Fressel crossed the finish line first for the Bruins. Once again Nathaniel Crowley and Isaac VeraCruz ran personal bests coming away with two PRs on the day.
In the 800 meter race, Andrew Sarver pulled out a top-10 program performance.
The day of competition ended with two solid races by Douglas Stone and Sol Shafer in the in the 5k.

"I am looking forward to the next meet as we push ahead into Nationals," said Coach Roach.
Next up, the Bruins track and field team will make their way up into the mountains of North Carolina to compete at the Last One Big One at Montreat College on May 7.
