The Bruins beach volleyball team is back in action Friday and Saturday as they make their way to the Upward Star Center for a weekend tournament hosted by Spartanburg Methodist College.
Coming into the weekend, the Bruins sit at 4-9 on the season after picking up two wins (5-0 and 4-1) against Gaston College Wednesday afternoon.
Host Spartanburg Methodist College enters the weekend on a nine game winning streak to sit at 10-10 on the season. The Bruins and Pioneers have met once already this season where the Bruins pulled out the 3-2 victory. SMC currently leads the series between the Bruins 3-2 with each of those games being decided by just one point.
The Bruins will also face Sandhills Community College this weekend. Through 10 games played this season, the Flyers have only picked up a single win. The Bruins and Flyers met for a pair of duals last season with Bob Jones sweeping each match 5-0.
Matches this weekend kick off at noon on Friday from the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
