The Bruins baseball team is back at home this week! Tuesday, the Bruins will play host to NAIA opponent, Truett McConnell University. The two teams are scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. from Conestee Park in Greenville, South Carolina.
TMU brings with them a 14-19 season record, but still hold a 6-0 record over the Bruins. The Bears are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC). Over the weekend, the Bears played a three-game series against conference opponent Johnson University-Tennessee. The Bears lost the first two games 17-2 and 11-5, but were able to finish the series on a high note winning game three 14-8.
The Bruins also finished a three-game series over the weekend. They traveled to Toccoa Falls, Georgia to play conference opponent Toccoa Falls College. In the first game of the series, the Bruins played a competitive game, but fell 7-6 after a 10-inning battle. After a strong performance in game one, the Bruins continued to play well into their next games. Game two of the series, Joshua Legnard pitched a complete game striking out nine batters and getting the win after a 7-3 final. Finally in game three, the Bruins kept it going winning another close game 5-4.
