The Bob Jones University Bruins track and field teams have released their 2025-26 schedule featuring several new and exciting opportunities for the growth of the program.
"This year's track schedule is different," Head Coach Ken Roach said. "We have different venues scheduled that will put us in a variety of competition settings."
"I am really excited to see how our team performs this season," said women's captain Emily Walton. "We have put a lot of work in throughout this offseason, and it will be cool to see the hard work pay off on the track and with throws."
The Bruins kick off their indoor season with one meet in the fall semester on December 6 as they travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to compete at the new and improved JDL Fast Track. Once a flat track, JDL has renovated and become a banked track which will lead to faster times because of the banked curves. Their indoor season continues after Christmas break with two new meets for the program. On January 17, they will compete at the Tryon International Winter Invitational. Located in Mill Spring, North Carolina, Tryon International is heavily known for their equestrian events, but have recently built an indoor track and field facility. The last indoor meet before the NCCAA championships is the Liberty Open hosted by Liberty University on January 23-24. This meet will provide a glance of competition against some NCAA DI schools.
"I can't wait for opportunities to compete at some of the highest levels and see how our team can rise up to the challenge of lining up against some DI athletes," Walton continued.
The outdoor season begins March 13 when the Bruins compete in the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The last time the Bruins competed this meet in 2023, many Bruins set program records and qualified for NCCAA nationals. The Bruins do have some familiar tracks in the outdoor season as they compete at UNC Charlotte twice on March 19-21 and then later on April 24-25. They will also go back to UNC Asheville and compete in the Asheville Bulldog Invite which is the meet the Bruins fought against freezing temperatures last season.Â
Looking for some breakout times from several athletes, Head Coach Ken Roach also put several NCAA DI meets on the schedule anticipating Bruins athletes to qualify. The listed meets at NC State, Georgia Tech, and the University of Kentucky all need qualifying times to compete.
The 2025-26 season ends at the NCCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 6-8 in Wilmore, Kentucky hosted by Asbury University.
"This team continues to get stronger with strong competitive meets," said Coach Roach. "We are ready for a big season."
